Playstation - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Release Date: 16th November 2001

Publisher: Electronic Arts

Developer: Argonaut

  • For 1 player

The Playstation version is a platform game, very "arcadey" and has lots of mini-games.

This game starts with the sorting hat ceremony and then straight into the game.

It's a platform action game set in Hogwarts, broken up by lots of mini-games, including a mine cart ride in Gringotts, a broomstick chase of Malfoy to get Neville's Rememberall back and being chased by a troll in to the girls' toilet.

Harry starts with only 1 spell, the "Knock Back Jinx", which gives a feeble push to whatever you direct it at.

You have to learn new spells in class, collect Bertie Botts Beans, wizard cards (these unlock secrets in the game) and collect house points in order to win the School Cup.

You can also play Quidditch on this version of the game and it looks very good, although the Snitch is very hard to spot.
